Default Taking out the carpet?

I'm thinking about taking out the carpet in my 2012 jk 2 door.

I'm wondering if I'll need to put anything else down to protect it or should it be fine?

Gut the interior and rhino line it. Looks great. Some guys just put in big floor mats tho... Do a thread search, there are several threads about it with photos.

I ripped the carpet out of my 2011 2-door over the summer and never looked back. I have Husky liners in there now for some protection. They slide around a little without the carpet, but I figure that's better than grinding rocks, dirt, and other shoe grime into the floor when I drive. They don't blow away when I run doorless, so I'll keep using them until I get around to bedlining the tub.
