I'm looking to build hitch mounted rack and want to angle it up behind the spare tire carrier to keep my departure angle as steep as possible.

However, right now I only have the stock tire mount, but plan on going to a bumper mounted carrier in the future and don't want to remake this thing. Soooo, my actual question is, what is the depth from the tailgate to the far side of your tire when the tailgate is shut? Particularly for a 35x12.5.
