Default Will shocks make any difference in ride height?

Ike the title says will changing the factory shocks on my 2011 jk sport unlimited, it has the factory spring #17 front and #59 rear spring part number. I've read alot of you have been swapping to rubi shocks and springs to gain a few inches of lift on a budget. Well beings that my springs are what would normally be sought after from the rubicon platform, would adding a 0"-2" lift shock to these stock springs give them a little bit more ability to extend out to there full ride height on normal driving. I wish to gain between an 1" to 1.5" on a budget.

I'm new to the off road world, but not to forum life and modding cars. Let me know your thoughts and what I should look to purchase.

Shocks will not change your ride height. Look at coil spacer options if you are on a tight budget.

Nope...Unless there is something about these shocks that I am unaware of.

Like others have said, longer shocks will not raise the ride height. Shocks for a 0"-2" lift will give you more flex, but without coil retainers, you could run the risk of the factory coils unseating or even falling out. You could look into Teraflex's spacer leveling kit. Keep an eye on the sponsering vendor section. There should a lot of good sales coming up in the next month or so. You should be able to pick up that TF kit for pretty close to $100.

Shocks have no affect on ride height, they only control your rate of travel. However, they do make spring assist shocks, intended to increase payload on pickups, etc. They look similar to a coilover. I have seen them in 500lb and 1000lb increments, and they would certainly raise your jeep...But they would probably have some very rough riding side-effects.

Thanks on all the input, I was trying to understand what the huge benefit everyone was getting by switching to rubicon springs and shocks. Wasn't sure if it was the combo of springs and shocks or just the springs. I'm currently running the RC front leveling kit. Wish I would have went teraflex leveling kit to gain that inch or so in height.

Will have to keep my eye out for a deal on that teraflex setup going on sale

Keep an eye on the For Sale section also. They pop up there from time to time, but you have to be lucky, as they sell pretty quickly.

The best - and most predictable - ride and handling comes from shocks and springs that are a known match for each other. Your existing stock springs are a good match for Rubicon shocks. If you can pick up a set of fresh take-offs, go for it. As already said, this won't change your height but you'll probably like the ride better.
