Default the shop wont mount 35's to 15x8 wheel!!

I heard of this happening before, but I finally found a place selling the tires I want, which is some sort of miracle because everyplace ive heard of before is on "national backorder" so I cant avoid doing business with this place. (they are the only ones who have my tires)

The guy did seemed nice enough initially, he placed my order for wheels and tires, than changed his mind after i handed him my credit card. ive been researching which wheels may or may not fit as far as 15x8 goes. so i chose to go with the american racing ar23's in 15x8, but he said i would have to choose another wheels at least 8.5 inches wide. I saw this wheel mounted here on this forum in a 15x10 but the guy was running spacers and i don't want to run spaces.

does anyone know of a machined alloy 15x10 wheel that does not have fitment issues on a 2011 2 door sport?

Just buy the tires and get the wheels somewhere else. Other shops will mount the tires to those rims.

You are mixing and matching a little in your question. Wheel demensions are only in issue with your tire guy because the manufactor of the tire recommends at least a 8.5 wide wheel for the particular tire you ordered. The spacer concern is based on the wheel off-set not the width of the wheel. Most times you see 8 or 10 inch wide wheels in the 15" size. What tire and size did you order?

i guess that is an obvious solution but, it makes things difficult for me because i dont have a larger vehicle to move these tires back and forth, also i would have to spend more money paying another shop to mount and balance and lose free rotations for life of tire. easiest solution for me is to find another wheel, if not than ill just have them mounted elsewhere

you can take your wheels and tires to someplace like walmart and they will offer lifetime balancing/rotation. it's a pain but, what can you do. if this is the setup you want, this is what you will have to do.

I know he refused to mount because of the 8.5 recommendation from bfg, that much was clear. the tire size is 35x12.5 r15.

I dont know what causes what, all i know is, i saw this wheel (ar23) being run by 2 different people on this forum in sizes 15x10 and 15x12 both of which are using spacers, i was under the impression that if i ran the 15x8 i would not have to use a spacer to clear the calipers.

I will do that, i thought i would just explore my options a bit before i go through all the hassle, im not trying to be stubborn of difficult, im just trying to see if i can resolve all this by running a wheel that is 2 inches wider. I have no problem running 15x10 as long as it clears the calipers.

wheel width isn't what will require you to run spacers, too much back spacing will. factory wheels are only 7.5" wide but have 6.25" of back spacing and, if you run wider tires, you will need to run spacers to help reduce the amount of back spacing you have. the reason to go with a narrower wheel width is that they will help hold the bead of your tire when aired down on the trail. otherwise, a wider wheel to match your tire's width would be the better way to go.

they should clear the calipers and if they don't, minor grinding of them is all that should be needed to make them clear. you would still have the same problem with 8" wheels too.

15x10 with 3.75 bs will fit though it will rob a little bit of height I believe. I know the size the manufacturer claims isn't the true size but my procomp 33x12.50 measures 31.5 on the 10 inch wheel. Not sure about greater bs fitting.
