Default Bumpers...powder coat, rattle can or dip paint?

Hey all, I'm looking to purchase a PSC Brawler Lite front and PSC RockBrawler rear bumper. Calling around for powder coat quotes range from $175 (no sandblast and single coat) to $275 (sand blast, primer and double coats) per bumper. The thought of adding an addtitional $500 + tax for the bumpers is not appealing.

Who has used a rattle can or other method to paint them? How'd they turn out? Bonus points for those of you that post pics of your work...

If you are going to wheel it definitely rattle can.

Here is my old bumper I sprayed with duplicolor bedliner.

Damn. That looks awesome! Great job. Was that a single coat or multiple? Thanks.

Powder coating is way over rated and crap for wheeling. Go with the rattle can bed liner or crinkle paint.

Default Rattle Can

I bought mine in raw steel. A little elbow grease sanding and cleaning, 2 coats of self-etching primer, and 2 coats of spray-on bedliner later...

I am a big fan of the Rustoleum bedliner. It has worked better for me than the duplicolor (goes on more evenly, less clumping, more consistent texture). I bedlined a front bumper with duplicolor and ended up stripping it and going with the rustoleum. When I stripped the duplicolor it was hard as a rock (good) in some spots and soft in others. Metal was prepped properly before application of each. That was a long and sucky weekend...

3 or 4 coats plus touch ups. I cleaned it and shot it with self etching primer first.

No. It just scratches and looks like crap when you hit rocks and trees.

That is great info. Thanks all for sharing. I think bare metal is the route I'm going and will follow in your footsteps using self-etching primer then some bedliner. BAM! Thanks!
