Default OME springs stock shocks

So I'm tight on money but have my heart set on getting an OME lt lift kit. Instead on spending 200-400 on a bb that I would have to replace later I was thinking of buying the OME hd springs, then when I get some more money I can replace the stock shocks. Would there be any issues with me running those springs with stock jku sport shocks? I'm ok with not getting ideal flex right now, I just don't want to do it if the stock shocks would somehow make it unsafe. Thanks for any feedback!

You would at least have to order the teraflex shock extensions. Keep in mind you are going to get around 3" of lift. I have this lift and would not recommend running it without track bars. Either save up and buy it all at once or stock up on the parts and put them all on at once. Call Dave at Northridge.

Default What is the diff???

What did you end up doing here??? I have been doing some research on this and here are the number I have found,

Collapsed/Extended
Stock Rubicon front shocks= 14.04" / 21.93"
OME n196 = 13.70" / 22.70"
Stock Rubicon rear shocks = 14.68" / 22.56"
OME N198 = 14.80" / 24.20"

The stock gas rubicon shocks are almost the same as the OME size wise. They are almost the same collapsed and only about .77" longer for fronts and 1.64" for the rears extended... If you would have to buy the 2" extenders for the stock shocks then why wouldn't you have to do the extenders for the OME shocks that came with the shocks??? If one is not worried about the flex extended then why wouldn't the stock shocks be fine the way they are???

Thanks!
Russ

I'm actually planning on buying the rough country bb with shock extensions in about a week. I haven't found any used ome springs to buy yet, but once I do I'll run them with shock extensions and see how it rides.

I too am interested in this same scenario. I have a set of 4 door X springs waiting for me at home theyre at least 3 numbers higher than what I have currently for a part number on my 2 door sahara but I have a feeling they may not work as well as I hope they will so I saw that you can pick up just the OME springs by themselves. I currently have the X2O 8k winch from smittybuilt and the body armor triple hoop bumper mounted on the front with 4 fog lights.

I think I have the lightest spring package Jeep provides and I have maybe an inch of travel before the bumpstops hit. I wan't a sturdy spring not a "lift" to bring it back to stock wheel travel so that I don't have to mess around with other crap like extended brake hoses and other stuff like that.

Would medium duty springs do that from OME because their compression is lighter and the weight will compensate for the 2-3 inches of lift?
