Default Destroyed driveshaft - safe to drive at low speeds? Need help!

Hi all,

Great run at Heattreater's 'mall' yesterday. Unfortunately my rear driveshaft did not survive. If I drive above 40 mph it feels like the Jeep is going to pulsate/vibrate apart. I need to drive it all this week. Will I explode my transfer case driving 40 miles roundtrip for the next 5 days? Or will I be OK staying below 40mph?

On that same note, anyone have an extra stock driveshaft I could buy off them? Are they hard to install?

Thanks all!Click image for larger version

don't see why the driveshaft would cause the jeep to wobble unless you see something broken.

Cause the actual tubing of the shaft is bent upwards in an arc. Faster the rotation, the stronger the vibration.

Myself and a mechanic checked everything that would cause death wobble and no damage.

Take the rear shaft off and run it as a front wheel drive until it can be repaired.

+1 on that. Your rear driveshaft can't vibrate if it's not on your Jeep

Robar is right. take the shaft off and run in 4 wheel drive. did you come down on a rock and hit it?

So after the rear DS is off, would you just run it in high 4x4 to make it 'front wheel drive'?

OK I'll do that, sounds good. Yeah, my back end was jacked up way high on some rocks. Wet and muddy conditions, back end slipped and came straight down on the shaft extremely hard. Felt it break.
