Looking to get rid of the factory rake on my 2008 JKU Sahara and I was wondering if anyone has installed a 1 inch front spacer and seen good results?


I'm debating between the TF 1.5 Budget leveling kit or the TF 1 inch coil spacer.

Leaning towards the 1 inch coil spacer due to price and wanting to stay as stock as possible. However, ultimately want to remove the rake.

Any insights would be appreciated.

The 1" spacer works great to correct the rake.

 

Most people don't take into account the passengers and a full tank of gas. Sitting in the driveway it may seem bad, but add two people with cargo and it will squat more.

 

I added a daystar 3/4" spacer to mine and I actually did notice a difference but it didn't totally kill the stock rake. It was worth the $40 it cost though and super easy to install

I was tired of looking at the rake, so bought 1" spacers and tossed way more tools than I needed in the back to drive to a friend's place and install the spacers.

(The tools probably weighed 2-300 pounds. All my toolboxes where sitting on the porch and I couldn't leave them there while I was away.)

So anyway, I parked the Jeep in my friend's level garage and got out the tape measure. With the tools in, my 2-door was perfectly level! I figure it is also level with us in it and some junk in the back. I returned the pucks.

Now I understand why I see Jeeps going down the road sitting low in back. Those Jeeps probably got leveled when they were sitting empty.

 

I would go leveling kit. The factory rake is more than an inch

 

I like being able to steer with a load in the back too much to install a leveling kit. The only time I want my JK to be level is when I have reached it's payload capacity as others have suggested.

 

I guess it just depends on how often you have stuff in your jeep! I had a set of 35s in the back with wheels so probably around 400 lbs and it was just fine with the spacers. Its all preference.

 

If the rake is removed from the Jeep, do the headlights have to be adjusted to have them shine where they should and not in the eyes of oncoming drivers? Just curious.

 

I would go with the level kit. I just put one in last weekend, looks awesome.
