Default AFE Stage 2 installation, Please help me!

Morning Jeepers, am trying to install a stage 2 on my sport, one slight issue, the OE sensor doesnt quite reach the rubber grommet on the new intake tube. No matter what i try it is not making it. If i splice the 2 wires and
extend them to reach, any issue with doing that???

I cannot reisntall the OEM version, am 95% complete and dont know what to do??

thanks!!

If I were you instead of splicing the wire, I would probably drill a new hole in the intake tube and put a rubber grommet filler in the old hole. Just make sure to remove all the metal shavings.

X2 on drilling a new hole. Just make sure you don't drill while its in the car and clean it out good before installing.

thanks for the reply, that wont work. Its way too short. My wire harness is too tightly embedded under the manifold. I have no choice but to cut/splice the two wires. I only need to add 3-4" tops

OK so here's what i had to do, the afe stage 2 unit i installed set the sensor too far away, the original wiring didn't allow me to mount it. I cut and spliced new wiring to extend the sensor to reach the grommet and now im all set.

No issues with the sensor being cut and re-wired, just an FYI..

Just installed my AFE, flipped the metal tube end for end ( opposite to what the picture in the instructions shows). Then air temp sensor fits fine. Just my two cents
