Default Gear chart for 2012 Manual....is it Correct?

Please refer to the gear chart on this page https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...ery-Newbie-Has

It shows that the 2012 Manual Tranny is revving at different (lower) RPMS than the 2007-2011 Manual Transmission....

Isn't it the same NSG370 6 speed for the 2012's? As far as I know, having a different engine (so long as it is 4 stroke) shouldn't effect the actual RPMS at a given speed, tire size, and gear ratio.

Can someone clear this up for me?

Example: according to the chart, the 2007-2011 Stickshift turns 2300 RPM's @70MPH w/stock 32's and 3.73's.
According to the PStar chart, the Stickshift turns 2186 RPM's @70MPH 2/stock 32's and 3.73's.

Shouldn't the numbers be the same? I did the Math on the PStar 5 Speed RPM's, and it looks to be correct.....

The chart is correct, the O/D ratio was changed on the 2012 manual, all other ratios remain the same.

Hm...what is the new gear ratio? If its the NSG 370, then the ratios are

4.46, 2.61, 1.72, 1.25, 1.00, 0.84, and 4.06 for reverse....

If the 6th gear was changed and used for the chart, it would be around.... .77 I think.

Can someone provide any proof of this? I'd like to know.

The '11 had an overdrive ratio of .84, the 2012 is .797, not a huge difference but that's why the charts are different.

Gotcha...I found the chart on chrysler's website. That makes the chart correct. I wonder if that will be even noticeable? Ive got a 2012 on order, should get it here pretty quick, and I'm coming from a Chevy v8. Gear ratios never really made much difference to me before.

It's less than 200 rpm, I think you'll be fine. The new engine's torque curve ramps up a ton at 1800 rpm, you will be turning more than that in 6th with 35 inch tires even below 70 mph. Everything is gonna be fine!
