Installing TF leveling kit- Can i avoid removing tires?
So my TeraFlex leveling kit (spacers) should be showing up this week
I am going to install it this weekend and have been reading where some people have installed the kit without removing the tires. I guess just disconnecting the lower shock bolt, sway bar, and jacking up the frame only..??? Is that actually doable with a normal floor jack?
If i have to remove the tires, no big deal. But if i can keep them on and save some time and headache..even better!
Anyone know if this is fairly easy to do? I like to think im pretty sharp but as a first time Jeep owner, i dont have alot of history messing with mechanics so any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I did the same thing as what you are doing. I read all the threads and figured I could do it without taking much off. I even thought that if I used my spring compressor I could get away with not even lifting it as high. I ended up spending more time to do the drivers side front then it took me to do the other 3 points once I gave up and just unbolted and removed things. Save yourself the pain and just take the wheel off and unbolt stuff.
I installed that same kit a couple of weeks ago. It's probably possible without removing tires but it will be much easier to just remove them. You'll have a lot more space. You would also need a floor jack that can lift really high.
I've read a lot of guys installing it without spring compressors but I couldn't get the rubi takeoffs in without compressing them. I actually used ratchet straps to compress them a couple of inched. Have fun. It's not a difficult install, just takes a few hours.

Your Always going to run into some bullshit problem when doing any simple work on a vehicle. Take the wheels off, find a friend with a bunch of tools and who has done it before. Its not always the 4 hours it says to do the work. We ran into problems with stock shocks needed to be cut off, spacers not fitting in correct holes (had to trim some of the edges to allow it to fit). I thought it would be an easy straight forward process. Definitely two people needed to put springs back on even with rotors touching the ground. Your already working in tight space with limited wrench movements, you will have harder time.
Either way though, your going to have a headache in the end. I was amazed how much more involved it was after installing 2.5" spacer lift on JK. Have backup tools ready, we used all sizes of wrenches, saw to cut off old shocks (unless your putting on shock spacers too), tractor supply for a bolt and nut we lost...
The ONLY part of the installation I'd suggest doing without taking off tires first, is sway bar links and shocks... Other than that it's going to be a headache, especially if the coils or spacers do not seat right...
