Default Which would you choose...?

...for a stock Jeep if you could have only one.

Bigger tires (Duratracs, BFGs, Toyos, etc.) on stock rims with stock suspension

or

a Teraflex Perf leveling kit lift and perf shocks (Elka, Fox, or King) with stock tires

Still undecided. Thoughts?

First, get the leveling kit... and you won't need new shocks. The 2011's were bad and the 2012's are worse with that rake they put in them... the front sagging down. That has to go!

Then, think hard about where you want to go so you don't waste your money. So many people buy new tires (when they already have new tires) just to be 1" taller. No sense in that.

X2 on that. I put in my 2 1/2" teraflex cool lift in and picked up a set of bfg rubi takeoffs. 35" Nitto trail grapplers are next. Come on tax returns!!

Thanks. Been thinking about this for a while now. Most of my driving has been, and likely will be, logging trails, muddy forest roads, dried streams, etc. Pretty much our regular Pacific NW fare. Not much solid rock climbing but will have some desert terrain every once in a blue moon. I'd like beefier tires and the added incremental height but at the same time I'd like a better trail and DD ride. Granted, the last time I drove a Jeep on the trails it was years ago but when I did I thought I was going to rattle my teeth out from the extended trail driving.

I personally would save and do them both at once...

Default tire size

I would think it depends on the tire size you want, do you need a lift? you can fit 32's no prob and 33's with a little rubbing

What about the standard leveling kit (not the performance version) and the bigger tires? That should save you some cash and enable you to still get both.

I did that originally, and then later also ended up swapping out a set of JKU Rubi springs and flat fenders.

I'd say it still flexes pretty well, eh?

I still have the stock Rubicon wheels and tires. The lift made a huge improvement in appearance. Off-road performance is great.
