Default Installing an MBRP exhaust

Just got my cat back exhaust yesterday, sooo excited!

Is this going to be a pain to install in the cold on the ground without the jeep jacked up? Or should I take it somewhere with a lift?

I just installed mine not to long ago. Use lots of DW-40 on the rubber parts for the hangers. That will help a lot. I had no problems doing it on my garage floor but I have a 3" lift on the JK. Plenty of room to crawl around under there. If you do not have a suspension lift of any kind it might be cramped.

It is easy to install. Getting the old exhaust off is a bigger pain. Like stated earlier, Lots of wd40... If you got the Off-road version, make sure you relocate the evap cannister. Otherwise, it is a nice product.

Just installed mine last week. Like others said, getting the old stuff off is the hard part. I used some grease and channel locks to get the stock exhaust out of the rubber mounts.

I installed mine about 2 weeks ago and like everyone says, lots of WD-40 to get the old exhaust off. But I swapped mine without a lift.

Swapped mine out without a lift. WD-40 works good on the hangers and rubber grommets. Its a good idea to get the full cat back system hung on all the hangers and in place with all the clamps still loose. Then start tightening the system up from the front to the back. It seemed like it lines up better at least on the JK Unlimited. You will definitely like the system and sound.

How long did it take to install?

I hope I love it, I've NEVER replaced an exhaust on any vehicle. My neighbors exhaust on his Ford f250 made me decide to go for it. Love all the sound clips online, going to add my own once it's done.

PB Blaster might work a bit better than WD-40.

If you have the black version, then the pieces fit extremely snug to each other. I had to end up taking it to a muffler shop, after hours of frustration. They had to use a special pipe widening tool, to get them to fit.

It took me about 2 hours. I have never installed an exhaust either. Pretty simple, don't get discouraged with the rumber brackets. They take a lot of WD40 and a lot pulling. Once you get the old one off, it took me about 30 mins to install the new one. Just don't tighten the bolts, as it needed a bit of an adjustment once you get it in.

It took me about 1.5 hours. Taking the stock system off took about an hour. Once I got it off it was only about 30 min before I was driving down the road. Its kind of a pain to get the clamp which meets the head pipe loosened on the stock system. Not to much space for a socket so it takes a little creativity. I got it with an open end wrench.
