Default Need help with tires and rims

Right now my stock jeep has a 225 75 16. I wanna move up to a 17 inch rim and put 33s on them but with all the numbers of tires i'm all confused. The rims i'm looking at is a 17x9 rim what size of tire would i need? i'm still learning how to read tire and rim size. I'm new with all these things so any advice would be great

Go out to the mfg's website for whichever tire you want. (or to sites like Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct). Find that tire and click on the specs list. You will see the full specs, in both standard and metric, for every size of that particular tire. (ie, look to the right of any metric size, and you will see the height and width in inches).

Or do a web search for 'metric tire calculator' or 'metric tire conversion'. Any of these calculators will let you plug in the metric size and then it will spit out the standard equivalent.
