Default EVO Draglink Flip Kit

Getting ready to order the EVO Draglink flip kit and hoping to do the install myself. Hoping to hear from those that have done it before. How easy is it to drill out the existing hole in the steering knuckle to 7/8"? I have a new dewalt black oxide bit. Will an 18 Volt cordless drill have enough torque or do I have to use a more powerful drill?

Thanks!

I think I used a corded drill. But that should work fine. May need a couple batteries if anything.

I used a 18v Dewalt cordless to drill our for the AEV high steer kit and was fine. Went through mush easier than I expected.

I burned my old drill up trying and ended up taking it to ORE. Wish I could have. Almost paid twice for the kit in installation cost!

x2 on how quickly it drills out. i used my 18v riobi drill, a quality bit that i got at a specialty tool store and i used air tool lube as cutting oil.

your really not removing much material when you do this, your just drilling out the taper in the knuckle for the tapered sleeve to fit into.

I used some good synthetic 5W30 and a 1/2 Air Drill...... A flat piece of plate and a large c-clamp to press the insert into the knuckle..

A good electric drill would be my second option, but lets not forget its just widening out the existing area.

Use what you have, don't rush and try to stay as straight as possible.

Good luck and have fun with it~

Thanks for the input everyone. I have cutting oil so good there. Any tips on drilling straight besides not drinking beforehand? :-)

I'm considering the same kit. What track bar are you using with it?
