Default Aftermarket driveshaft install question

Im putting a ft 4" ultimate lift on my jk and purchased a new front driveshaft. Is there anything special to installing the driveshaft or is it just unbolt factory and bolt on aftermarket?

Which driveshaft did you get?

If you're replacing your flanges with yokes, you're going to need a good impact wrench of very long breaker bar to get the pinion nut off, and a gear puller to remove the tcase flange.

My 300ft-lb impact wrench did nothing on the pinion nut. I bent a breaker bar too. Went and picked up a 500ft-lb impact wrench and it spun right off.

It's a je reel 1310. And it has flanges on it..any advantage to yoke over flange or which is better?

flanges are stronger but will increase the angle of your drive shaft. depending on how tall you go, how much caster you have and how well your shaft is balanced, this can contribute to drive line vibrations. yokes will sit further back and help reduce the angle of your drive shaft and will therefore offer up a little more forgiveness when it comes to vibrations.

if the shaft is new, it shouldn't need balancing and you're being sold on something you don't need. also, to the best of my knowledge, NO 4wheel parts works on or balances drive shafts - if they say they do, i'd want to see their balancer. more than likely, it'll be sent out to a local drive line shop.
