I am trying to decide on a bumper and was looking at LoD Bumpers. Any one have experiences with both the linked and locked rear bumper. Advantages or disadvantages of either one.

 

I have the lod 3rd gen linked rear bumper. The quality is amazing! They linkage swings really nice and the bumper can withstand major rock abuse without really denting here are some pics for ya

This will be an idiotic question. But can you wire those lights to illuminate when you go into reverse as well as via switch?

 

Yes you can. I have them wired so they come on with reverse. They are run to a switch as well. If people are tailgating me I give them a flip of the light. Or if I'm on the trail and the person behind me has their brights on...they get mine from behind. Or if I'm just crushing with my buddies I flip em on to piss em off haha

 

The bumper and linked carrier is great. Completely silent when you set it up right. There is a write up thread on how to wire them up on here. The OP of that thread used a switch that had 3 options. She wired them up so they were either on, off, or on when in reverse, depending on the switch position. That is a great way to set them up so that you are not blinding people in parking lots. I set mine up on a switch only so that I can turn them on when I want, reverse or not. You won't be disappointed in this bumper

 

LOD bumpers are very nice. Well constructed and durable. Here's mine...

i have thire shorty front w/ stinger and shorty rear. love their products. after 2 years of abuse im going to pull them and re-powdercoat. other than that the only gripe i have is the tire caarier stop. The hole for the spring loaded stop pin is so close to the edge of the material that the weight of the tire caarier plus a 35"s tire is enough to bend it and render it useless. the pin its self also became hard to operate after a few months. other than that its a great bumper and holds up to a ton of abuse.

 

I have the LOD front and rear gen 1 and love them. 4 years and have not let me down yet!
