Default Dynomax Rockcrawler w/ Resonator?

I installed the Dynomax Rockcrawler exhaust on my 2011 JKU a few months back. I primarily wanted to get rid of the ugly stock muffler in the stock location and pick up a little better power and throttle response. Improvement in sound was a secondary consideration, although anything is better then the stock minivan noise I suppose. These days, I get complaints from the wife and family that the exhaust is too loud and drones. I don't want to go back to stock, so I need some ideas on how to cure this. Would a resonator help to quiet things down and eliminate drone? If so, is there one that is known to work with the Dynomax Rockcrawler setup?

Search found a couple things on resonators used with AFE and Gibson, but nothing on the Dynomax setup...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

You can run a resonator in there, (space providing in front of the UFW SS) look for a round muffler, a lot of the hot rod/muscle cars use a Thrush glasspack muffler, but they have ,more space than a JK.

Dynomax - Thanks for the reply, you've given me some hope!

There seems to be a lot of different glasspack style mufflers... any particular one to recommend here? A part number would be great.

As an alternative to running a resonator, is there a different style Dynomax muffler that I could substitute in place of the UFW SS muffler that would not create clearance or heat issues?

Thanks again!

I would look to an inexpensive small resonator, it is basically just another muffler in front to "slow" down and absorb more of the exhausts.
In regards to another muffler perhaps the new DynoMax VT? But I haven't seen one mounted in that location yet...

I am running a Hush Power Resonator made by Flowmaster. Cuts out the drone. I have a different system than you but its an idea.

I have an e-mail into someone to see if it can be swapped out easily.
So I found out that P/N 17956 MIGHT work but it would be in the best interest to have a shop do it right.
It's tight under there.
