Default Delayed throttle response (intake + exhaust)

First installed a Rusty's Offroad Exhaust and then an Airraid Intake about a month later. I didn't notice too much of a difference in throttle response with the exhaust but after the intake it seems worse for sure. Throttle response seems delayed and also seems bogged down. I feel like I always have to be revving in the higher RPMs to get much pick up. I have an Auto 2007 Unlimited X.

Has anyone experienced is when installing a CAI and axle back exhaust? Will a Superchip or other tuner help out?

Thanks in advance.

This shouldn't be an issue at all. Neither bolt on part drastically changes the mechanicals, and both should play well with the PCM and tables. A PCM reset may be in order if it's dropping timing on roll out.

What JPop said is correct.

After I install any mufflers/intakes... I always unhook the negative terminal on the battery and hold the brake pedal down for about 30 seconds to drain the ECU memory.

Then after you hook it back up, the computer should re-learn your mods and adjust accordingly.

You should try a Sprint booster, much better throttle response over stock.

I love my sprintbooster, but the potentiometer in the throttle pedal didn't change because a new exhaust and intake were added.

Thanks for the replies. I unhooked the negative terminal when I replaces my battery. I figured it was off long enough to reset but I didn't do the brake pedal/ECU drain. I'll give that a try. Thanks again.

Default How did you go?

Hey Bro,

I'm curious, how did it go after you tried the suggestions?

Cheers

Hey, haven't had time yet but planning on doing it tomorrow night. I'll post results afterwards.

Ok I did as suggested and removed the negative terminal of the battery as well as pressing the brake pedal to drain the ECU battery. I held it down for a full minute too. I also cleaned my AirRaid filter too. Nothing seems to be different.

I'm wondering if it was the upgrade in tire size to 33" tires. I did the upgrade before the intake and exhaust. I didn't notice a drastic difference in the performance like I do now. I'm curious if it is more noticeable because of the louder intake and exhaust.
