Default steel vs alloy

now yes i know there is treads on this already but i could not get a clear answer for my question

i need new wheels for my daily driver now i live in buffalo where we get snow and they use salt here so alloy or steel because if i didn't live where it snowed id do alloy butt i hear that it gets damage from salt real easy and i don't wanna spend $$$$ for them to get messed up then i thought of with the added weight will steel bring more problems down the road because off wear and tear to suspension parts help please

A painted and clearcoated alloy wheel will do best in the salt. Just make sure to spray them off at the end of the season. Steel will rust fast and the black matte finishes will stain whether they are steel or alloy.
