Need help w Rubicon Express lift!!
Hey guys I need some input. We just recently purchased a 3.5" Rubicon Express standard lift. We bought it from a guy that put it on his wife's 2012 JKU and some parts didn't work because of model changes and his wife thought it was too tall. We got the entire kit and a set of 4 Bilstein 5100 shocks for $600.
My questions is has anyone had experience with this lift? If so what things should I expect? Do I need anything else that's not provided? I do plan on purchasing extended brake lines instead of using the crappy tabs they give to relocate the existing ones.
I'm concerned about steering issues. Like death wobble, whether or not I need a drop pitman arm? Driveline issues? Any help would be great. I know there are some kits that offer more w their kits but is it all necessary? Also I have read about not using the cam bolts that were included. Any suggestions?
Thanks guys!

I have that exact set up (with the bilseins) but on my 2 dr. I dont have much experience with lifts, but it is a pretty rough ride, but its a jeep. Also the ride will be better on your longer wheel base 4dr. I have steering issues. No death wobble, but I get a lot of feedback in my steering wheel when i go over bumps, and sometimes my jeep will "wonder" on the road. I purchased the AEV geometry correction brackets that move your stock front upper and lower control arms down to make it a better ride. These were cheap and helped some but my handling is still not great. I also got a larger steering stabilizer and that did not help much. Other than that it is a good lift, flexes well and has not sagged with my new bumber etc.
Look at the 3.5" superflex kit for a list of recommended component upgrades for your kit. If you find that you need to correct the steering angles, look at some type of a flip kit instead of going with a drop pitman & trackbar relo bracket.
Death wobble will be caused by improper installation or worn components, not because you chose rubicon express instead of another brand. If you experience it, then open up the big write-up linked at the bottom of planmans posts.
Nothing wrong with brakeline brackets. A lot of people spend $10 at the local hardware store to make them instead of buying longer lines.
Cam bolts are another of the many components that people either like or hate. They are dirt cheap, but have some drawbacks. If you can afford a set of adjustables, that is arguably the better way to go. And if you only get one set per end, go for front lower and rear upper.

I have the RE Superflex 3.5" lift and don't have problems. The ride is rough, but that's because of the crappy shocks I have. I plan on getting the bilstein 5100 because I heard they complement RE lifts. If I had to do it again I would get the Teraflex 3.5" long arm. Not because of anything negative, just because I want to try something new.
I have the same lift and the 5100 bilstien shocks. I love the lift and have no complaints. I have a 2011 JKU and the ride is as good as the stock in my opinion. The shocks are also great. I had my
Lift installed at 4 wheel parts
In Orlando and have had no issues. The Jeep runs straight down the road at speed and under breaking also. No death wobble. As said in other reply's I think the install has alot to do with the performance of the lift. I will say that I got a lot more than 3.5 inches of lift on mine. It was like 5 inches on front and rear. Not that I'm complaining about that. More lift than what I paid for. I like the lift and would recommend.

I've got the exact same setup. No problems whatsoever. also gave me more lift than I bargained for, somewhere around 5". No sag either. if you do run into hiccups, pm me, I know the ins and outs on this setup pretty well.
