Title says it. So will it?? I've heard it won't, and that in time, welds will start breaking? So with that being said, what spare tire holder do you guys recommend for a 17" wheel & 35" tire? THANKS all!

35 should be fine for a while, maybe never have a problem.

But I really like my or fab and I'm glad I went that route.

There are a lot of variables in play. Weight, wheel backspacing, how you drive your Jeep. Obviously, a heavy 35 is going to put a ton of strain on the door and it could start to sag or break welds. If you have wheels with low backspacing, the tire will stick out very far and you will need bump stop extensions to stop the tire rattle, not to mention it will have a leverage effect that will cause further problems. Of course, one of the largest factors is how you drive your Jeep. You could probably get away with a 35 on the stock carrier for a while if you take it easy and watch big bumps, but if you wheel hard, its going to expedite the breakage of spot welds and what not.

Thanks guys! The wheels I have, are 4.5 backspacing. The tire actually rubs on the OEM bumper a bit, which leads me to believe it "rests" on it to some extent, even if it's very minor support, I think it still may help a bit. I'm not a heavy off-roader by any means. I'm new to the JK community, and she only has 750 miles on her. So I should be okay for awhile. Just trying to do some preventive thinking/maintenance. I appreciate the help fellas, this is a new world for me, and just want to make the right choices.
