Default I want to lift a new 2012 unlimited???

I want to run 35" can i get by with the aev AEV JK 2.0" Spacer Suspension System or do I need to go bigger? Or this http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_jk_2.html

I just bought the jeep and the dealer will buy back the wheels and tires towards https://secure.aev-conversions.com/s...ode=20402022AA

So I figured I would ask if any one could give some advise. I will not be doing a ton of hard core off roading. I will do some.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi, I have been looking at lifts as well, my jeep is my dd so I want a nice ride to work as well. You might want to consider the rock krawler 2.5 max travel kit, it comes with lower control arms to improve the ride and is very well regarded for their cust service. I had a spacer lift on my last jeep and was not very happy with it. If you look up rock krawler on here you can see pics, the 2.5 looks killer with 35s as well. Good luck!

What's your stock gearing? Auto or manual?

2" is plenty for 35's. I am not a fan of spacer lifts but its preference and what your willing to drive. The 2012's require a mod to the exhaust AFE makes a Y-pipe that will push it back out of the way and Tera flex makes spacers. I think the AFE kit is more complete but depending on your budget both will work.
With the new engine and tranny you probably wont have issues pulling 35's but in the future depending on your driving habits you may end up wanting to regear.
Edit:
RC springs sag; a lot so although it sounds bigger on paper it really isn't
The AEV wheels will rub just as much as the stock wheels without spacers. Not really an upgrade other than looks. They look cool but you should know this going into it.

I went with the Teraflex 2.5 coils with Bilstein 5100's.. Its a great ride! I went with 4.56's because I had 3.21 stock.. The 3.6/man with 4.56's move my 35's without any issue... For the exhaust, I did the Teraflex spacers, they went in easy and did the job..

More conflicting info... I was told by RC and Terra that if you keep the stock shocks (budget boost kits) and 2.5" or less lift you do not need the exhaust spacers

What didn't you like about the spacers kit? Which one?

Default Just put in a 2.5" procomp coil lift

Have you looked at a simple coil lift?

I just put in a 2.5" coil lift from ProComp(came out more like 3"-3.5") in my 2012 unlimited. I only have 33's however, i put them on a day before putting the lift on and there was no rubbing. Now with the coil lift there is PLENTY of room.

The ride is still pretty good, i noticed the biggest change in ride when I put the tires on, not when the lift went on. There was no cutting, welding or modification to the exhaust needed. A couple holes to drill and a bunch of assembly. Took me and a buddy about 4 hours.

Backspacing on all factory wheels is 6.25"

Backspacing on the AEV wheels is 4.65"

this will set your wheels out over 1 1/2" inches more than stock

Go ahead and ask anyone who runs AEV wheels. I have yet to see one not rub without a spacer. I love the way they look and wish they would fix the problem.
Is it a different backspacing? Sure that wasn't my point sorry if you miss took what I said for that. They rub and that is why you will find them used for sale all over the internet.
