Default P vs LT Nitto Terra Grapplers...

Looking for new tires, gonna be running 17" 997 black rock rims with 285/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. Nitto makes the tires in a P and LT version. Its my daily driver and I do no offroading whatsoever. Which tire should I go with?????

My guess would be the LT because of the weight they are rated to carry. I'm sure someone else will chime in with a yay or nay.

I just ordered the same - Nitto Terra Grapplers in 285/70R17. I went with the LT's. I do some mild offroading. The LT has stronger sidewalls and I've somehow managed to put two sidewall holes in my current Goodyear SRAs (one was a major gash from going through some rocks, the other is small hole from who knows what - haven't seen any rocks in 6 months and now it's leaking).

Get the p rated if you dont off road they will ride alot better on the street. They are lighter and their weight rating is 2833 lbs at 35 psi. Perfect for street only.

Now you've got me thinking. I'm a little worried that the E rating on the LTs in the size might be too stiff for me. But to get a D rating isn't available in this size, just the 295/70/R17. Slightly larger tire and more expensive too. I'd like to have the D ... Just when I thought I had this all figured out ...

Interesting. The stock Goodyears on my 16s are LTs. These are the same ones I've got sidewalls issues with.
