Default 35x12.50 on the spare tire mount

Hey everybody. I'm Larry. I just traded my 06 rubicon in for an 08 JK. I have already ordered up a 3" TF lift, and some 35's.

My question is, and I apologize if it's been covered, will a 35X12.50 on the stock 17 fit on the spare tire mount? Thanks in advance.

IT will if you put a 1.5 in spacer or cut the rubber mounts on your tailgate. Lota weight on the gate though. Best to do a third brake light mod too.

Ditto. Will not fit without a spacer. I tried taking the rubber spacers off but it was still too close on the stock bumper. It would have put things in a bind and that is a whole lotta weight on the tailgate.

I am going from 33 MTZ to 35 MTZ on a stock spare tyre mount. I will be fitting the 35" spare without any air in it to decrase the weight. As I have a dual ARB air compressor onboard which i will use for putting the air. But currently i have noticed my stock rubber gourmets have a gap between the tyre.

Guys around here run 37s on the spare with a spacer. Not me though, too much weight.
