3.73 and 32's or 33's
I have a 2010 w/ auto trans and 3.73 gears. I know that I should/need to go with a higher gear set at some point. I'm running 32's now it does ok. Can I run 33's without to much of a problem? I know the chart on here says no but is 1" going to make that much of a difference?
You are going to get a ton of feedback both ways. I ran 33's with my 4.10's for years. There was performance loss but it wasn't aweful. I have since added a ton of weight and went to stock rubicon rims and tires. With the weight and the more aggressive tires, it is worse than the 33's were on my stock jeep. It really comes down to what you can tolerate, what kind of terrain you live in, and your driving habits.....

I am running 295/70r17 Nitto Trail Grapplers (33.5) on ATX artillery wheels with 4.5 backspacing on my 2 door with 3.73 gears and it runs great. I haven't really noticed that much of a decline in power. It could be because its a two door (auto) though.
I've got a 08 2dr auto with 3.73 and 33" duratracs. I went from the stock 255(?) to the 33s and I could tell the Jeep was working harder. I got an AEV Procal and it made a world of difference. It drives like a dream with only occasional down shifting on very long/windy or very steep inclines. It feels almost like stock. I think you'll be just fine
Thanks for all the help. Most of my driving is to work or down the beach. I was leaning towards the 33's because I plan on swaping my leveling kit for the new AEV 2.5" lift thats coming. (If they ever release it)

I am running 33's and 3.73's and heavy mud grapplers now without any issue. Occasionally I have to turn the OD off for some extra power but very rarely. Waiting for these tires to wear down so I can upgrade to 35's or maybe 37's depending on how much I intend to spend on gears and another lift.

I currently run 3.73s with 295/70/18 Nitto Trails and they are 34.5" I noticed a power loss, but I got the AEV Procal and it was back to normal. I really don't notice any significant loss now, you'd probably not even notice 33's if you get the Procal.
