Exclamation Wheel Backspace Question??, Could Not Find Answer Searching

I searched many threads and found close answers but nothing specific for me. I apologize if it was answered and I missed it. I have an 08 X and would like to upgrade to 32 x 11.5 tires. My only issue is the width. I found the following rim sizes below on a website and would like to know which one will work with no rubbing, or use of spacers.

15 x 7 with 4" backspacing

15 x 7 with 5" backspacing

15 x 8 with 5" backspacing

Which size would be best for my application? Like I said I want to avoid spacers. If these sizes will not work...what size, width/backspacing, do I need to look for. I really like the look of the 11.5' wide tires. Thank you very much in advance

Any of those would be fine for the tire you listed. Stock rims have a 6.25 backspace, so you are moving them out at least 1.25", which is plenty for the extra tire width.

My personal preference would be an 8" width over the 7", and a 4.50 (ish) backspace. This will give a bit wider stance, and the lower backspace and extra inch of rim width is better for future upgrades to bigger tires. The only consideration to this would be if you have fender coverage laws and need the tires tucked back inside the flares.

I really appreciate the quick response. There are no fender laws I need to worry about. From the brand I was looking at I did not see a 15 x 8 with 4.5 BS, Would the 5" BS work just fine still?, and with that could I go to 12.5" wide in the future with different tires?

Most of the lift mfg's are recommending a 4.5 or lower backspace with 35x12.50 tires. With all of the variance in 'actual' tire height and width, and not knowing how perfectly centered the axles are, no one can give a definitive answer on what will or won't rub. A 4.5 BS seems to be fairly safe, though.

So back to my opinion, you should be fine with a 33x12.50, but you'll want to do a test fit on a 35x12.50 before purchasing.

Not all 15" rims will clear the brakes.

Doh, good call. I didn't even notice that he was looking at 15's.

You'll want a maximum of 4.0 backspace. 3.75 would be better.

This thread has some good info also.

Would 15 inch wheel with 4" backspace clear the caliper? Or do I have to get 16 minimum?
