Wrangler Almost Totaled
New years eve my 09 Wrangler was subjected to the stupidity of a drunk driver. The source of the impact was the rear driver's side wheel with only minor damage to the body. However, the insurance company has decided to repair and not total. Their course of action is to replace the entire frame and rear axel assemby along with all the rear suspension parts. Should I be less concerned with the outcome since they are replacing the entire frame, vice straightening it? Or is there greater potential for other problems because everything is being unassembled and reassembled on the new frame?
Oh he'll yeah it's bas enough what Chrysler does , now you going to have a body shop do it then again they might put it back together better then Chrysler , seriously I would be worried to about that I could understand a sub frame part but the whole frame

I used to be a property damage claims rep. I now handle injury claims. This information is of Louisiana insurance handling...
I am confused. Are they replacing the entire Jeep frame or is there a rear section? Seems like a lot of costly labor would be involved.
Trust me you will have to fight them to total it. You may be able to get a 3rd party appraiser or adjuster look at it to see if they agree or disagree with your adjusters recommendation.
If they pay you for at total, it will be ACV and that may be worse for you depending on how they value it.

THey are replacing the entire frame with a new frame and the entire rear axel assembly too. Estimated time of repairs is 4 weeks.

OP, you have no choice but to have it fixed it the amount of damage doesn't exceed what is needed to total the vehicle.
You can fight for diminished value, but good luck.

Replacing a frame on a Wrangler is not as bad as it sounds. I have seen it done hundreds of times on many types/brands of vehicles. If you have a quality body shop do it then you will be good to go. The bad thing is you will most likely get a used frame. If that is the case check it really good for rust yourself before letting them replace it. You don't have to accept shitty parts.
