Enhanced Rubicon Rock Rails
Are these basically Rock Rails that also act as side steps? Does anyone have them, I'd like to see pictures of them?
I would like to get side steps for my JK so that if I put bigger tires it is easier to get in for the occasional back passenger and my Fiance. I don't do any heavy offroading but I probably will do some mild stuff down the road.
Do I need Rock Rails? or should I just get the regular side steps? The enhanced rock rails will cost more than double, so if I don;t need them I'd rather stick w/ the regular side steps.

Actually, these are basically the Rubicion side steps with a tube extending from them. While they don't extend out too far from the body, I do believe there is enough there to be used as a basic step. Here are some shots of it...

You can see more shots here:

and, there are various other JK who had them at SEMA and you can see them here:

IMHO, these are way cool and I would totally recommend them over plastic steps. The Rubicon rails have proven themselves to be quite strong and will take trail punishment well. Why they didn't come with the tube steps sooner is beyond me.

I just got the enhanced rails. They mount exactly the same as the stock rubicon rails (which is what I removed), and they work great as a step. They are just tube, so can be a little slick if you're not paying attention, but work great for what I needed (a step for the family and some added protection from rock/mud kick-up). $500 was the best price I found for the 4dr version.

I just added tubing to my stock rock rails, they will easily hold my 200# butt with only a minor flex. They were also tested on some rocks on my last trip to Superlift ORV and held up like a champ.

Eddie, I thought you saw that JK at Easter Jeep in Moab that had tube welded to the stock rubi sliders and mangled his Jeep so bad with them he had a hard time opening and closing the doors. The tube puts a tremendous amount of additional leverage on the mounting.

I have plans on adding tubing myself over the winter. Can't wait!
