Soft Top Rear Zipper Getting Looked at tomorrow
So I have about 12k miles on my JK and my 3 years ends in March. The rear window especially around the drivers side is extremely difficult to close and it is currently stuck. I have lubed that thing up all the time but it still doesn't zip properly catch and often misses it. The stick on one of the zipper knuckles is gone on the soft top side. The teeth dont look too bad but they are fairly close together because the top is always one so the corner ones especially are close together. I remember when I first got it when the people where showing me how to put the top on and off that they told me the rear window will probably not align perfectly and would take a little more effort they told me it was just a jeep thing. So after all these years I just dealth with it. But now it is stuck for good and I can't even unzip it. Most of time it doesn't zip properly missing two or three teeth frequently but now it is like 4 in a row.
I was wondering if any of you guys got your tops replaced because of dumb zippers. Also the two straps that I guess are tension nylon bands? for the top are off their rivets looks like they stretched then slipped.
Should this be covered under the 36k warranty. I talked to the service manager on the phone and he said it should be depends how stuck it is. But they told me it was most likely they would replace it because of so many of us here in AZ having the rear window especially failing. So if it stuck that they can not even get it out what then?
Never had to do warranty work before so what should I say? I'm hoping they aren't blaming it on me sayings its my fault. I bought the mopar lube and the dealer I bought it from just told me it was a jeep thing. I only take it off like 4 times a year because is annoying zipping up that rear window. Should I be prepared to argue?
Thanks

I'm dealing with this now. I had the dealer take pictures and Chrysler won't replace it. The stitching where the zipper flange attaches to the window is coming apart. So I will keep taking it back until they replace it. Thought I had a good dealer, but really they all suck!

I did that using 550 cord but the teeth still skip and still pretty difficult around the corners. I'm taking it in on Saturday so I'm trying to be prepared for stuff they will say to try to blame it on me.
