Default Bushwacker Flat Style Fender Flares

Does anyone or can anyone get the measurements of tire coverage on these? What is the measurement on the flat surface on the flares?! In Maine, we are required to have no tread extending past the flares....I am wondering if these are long enough to cover up to 35s and what the actual width is on the top!

Thanks,

Billy

I just measured:

Rear = 5-3/8"
Front = 8"

I think I read on this forum the Bushwackers offer the same tire coverage as the stock flares.

Excellent, thanks a lot Texwilly. I appreciate the measurement! I'm hoping they are the same coverage, I just wanted a true measurement to find out! Thanks again!!

Yup, which is why I had to go with Xenon flares, they are 1.5 inches wider than stock, and cover my 315/75/R16 tires on a 4.5BS rim no problem.

Thanks for that information! I don't want to get screwed on an inspection in Maine...some places can be ridiculous! How much and where did you get your Xenons?

When I ran 35x12.5x17 on stock rims with 1.5 spacers the tire stuck out about 1 inch. When I switched to aftermarket rims with 4.5 back spacing and removed the spacers the tires stuck out about the same.

I got mine from Stan at Northridge4x4.ca

http://northridge4x4.ca/proddetail.php?prod=XENON-9010

But it doesn't look like the US site has them listed, which is odd.

Our fender laws sound the same as yours.

That was the first place I checked and I didn't see them on the US Site...I can probably call David or someone and get them though!

Fender laws in Maine say that the tire cannot extend beyond the coverage of the flare...its pretty lame! I have MB 72 Wheels that where on it when I bought it...I don't know what the back spacing is though?! Is there a way to tell now that they are on it and I didn't purchase them?!

Thanks Guys,

-Billy

up here in the great white north, where the tire meets the road must be covered by the flare, I have heard of them giving you a hard time if you have a aggressive side lug on your tire like a Pitbull rocker but no confirmation.

With my maxxis big horns the flares just cover up to the sidewall.

You can measure the backspacing with the wheel mounted, but it's a little more difficult. Take some sort of straight edge (a piece of wood, cut down yardstick, ect.) and place it on the inner part of the rim as close to the center as you can get. Measure from that point to the mounting surface of the wheel. The resulting measurement will be your backspacing.
