Default Unlimited on 37's question

I have read about sleeves and gussets on the Dana 30 when running 37's.

My question is:
Is it 100% necessary to do the gussets/sleeves 'IF' its only a street vehicle? Its my wifes Jeep

It depends on how much you enjoy cooking and doing your own laundry.

No.

I've been running 37's on stock Dana30 for over 6 months now and done light wheeling, with no issues to report. On Toyo Open Country M/Ts which are heavy.

Im looking at the same tires. Yeah, light wheeling is the most ill ever do with it, i dont drive it alot. Also, its a 6 speed, going with 5:13 gears, should be a good combo.
Thanks for the input.

Even some jk's with stock wheels have shown signs of bent C's . If your running 37's I would at least do the gussets. They are not expensive and would be cheap insurance.

Do the spindles have to come off or can the gussets be welded in place without taking axle apart?

5.13s with a six speed is really low. I have 4.88s with a tire that measures a true 37 with my 6 speed and I run 3k rpms at 70.

I have the evo gussets. I think they recommend removing the axle but a pro can weld them up no problem leaving the axle in place.
