Or-Fab tire carrier with Nato Cans
For those running the Or-Fab tire carrier with the Nato style gerry cans are you experiencing a lot of rattling?
Wondering if i switched to the Blitz style cans so i could get rid of the "no lip" adapters if they would be quieter?
Or is it a lost cause either way and I just need to deal?

I have run both style cans on my OR Fab carrier, first the steel cans with absolutely no noise empty or full. Now I run the military (Scepter) cans since I have tons of them, to include water cans too. These also are completely quiet. Not trying to be "captain obvious" here, but if you are using the military cans, are you using the required OR Fab adapter mount needed to carry the cans??
Yes i have the Or-Fab adapters on there. Maybe i'll try with more gas in them.
I just put a little bit in each to see if that helped, but didn't go more than 1/4 full.
If they're quiet for you I must be doing something wrong with they way they're mounted.

Hmmm, that is kind of confusing on your noise issue. You may be the first with the carrier out of all the forum members reporting about this. Any other items like a hi-lift or CB antenna that you are running that might be the culprit? I will say that I do tighten my fuel and/or water cans down pretty damn tight. Not sure what else to suggest for you
I also have the carrier and use the cans with lips, hence no adapter. No noise at all either with full or empty cans. One thing tough. I kept those two large rubber nipples on the gate and they press against the two cans keeping them quite tight.
Question about the Scepters. Where do we get the real thing here in US?
