Fitfing 33's with no lift
I have a 2010 Rubicon and want to fit 33's to stock Rubicon wheels with no lift. From reading other posts I will need spacers 1.25" or 1.5". Will I get rubbing without a lift? Are there any other problems that I might encounter?
If you are keeping stock wheels, then yes - you need spacers. If you are getting new wheels, I'd say you need at least 4.75" backspacing or less to not rub. Other than that, you shouldn't rub anything....

I had slight rubbing with my 33 12.5 on my 2012 2 door with aftermarket wheels but nothing major. Just rubbed the flares and the stock bumper skid. Got new bumpers and trimmed flares and bang! Problem solved.
Thanks, obviously with sway bar disconnected 33's will rub when fully articulated. I may be best to go for a 2" suspension lift to avoid rubbing and would also have the advantage of a bit more ground clearance.

Tera Flex leveling kit is 2" in front and 1" rear.
How Tera Flex can claim you can run a 34" tire is beyond me. A 32.25"x12" wide tire rubs like crazy disconnected with a leveling kit. I wish they would change their advertising as it is incorrect.

You can run 35's with a bone stock suspension, that doesn't mean that you can wheel it without the potential for problems. I've seen posts of dealers slapping 35's on Jeeps with no other mod's.
I'm running 33's now with 4" BS on 16" wheels and, for a while, stock JKU X suspension. My rear tires rub the fender flares and my front tires do too when disco'd. I have since done a Rubi spring and shock transplant w/ 3/4" spacers and got a little room back but ultimately will need a proper lift or fender trim to "fix" it.

Currently running 33x12.5's on stock suspension and 17" wheels w/4.5" back spacing. On the road or a mild trail, no problem. True offroad travel will cause rubbing in the rear and disco'ing will allow the front to rub as well. All in all, performs very well considering it basically just rolled off the dealers lot.
