I have ace and absolutely love them. Great quality. From what I hear smittybilt is rather low quality and have been known to bend so go ace

I like the ace and have also heard great things from the forum. They will mainly be used because the kids are asking for steps, but I want the protection also. Do you know if they are only sold through ACE or are they distributed through a vendor that is a sponsor?

I was going to buy the smittybilt because of the nice step until I was talked out of them based on bad experiences some fellow local Jeep owners have had with them. I just got my ACE rails yesterday from Rebel Offroad.

Default Go ACE!!

I've got the ACE Rock Sliders on my 2010 JKU and love them. The biggest selling point on them was the ability to mount in conjunction with the Rubi Rails. The finish is the same between them too!

I don't really know how clear they are in this picture- I'll see if I can get a better one when I get home.

The ACE rails offer just as much of a step as the Smittybilt, but since there is less tubing you won't tack on any additional weight. The ACE also have a lifetime trail damage warranty. You break one on a trail and they'll replace them, no questions asked.

As for vendors, there are three that I know of but none of them are sponsoring vendors. As far as that goes, ACE isn't a sponsoring vendor or manufacturer either. The owner at ACE is a great guy and could probably put you in touch with some of the vendors who sell them. Give Adam a call.

Oh, and here are some pics...click each for a larger picture.

Edit: One last thing. You can use them in conjunction with some Rubi rails for two tiered protection.

Looks as though they are for 07-10. I have an 11. They do look good.

ACE, good price, thick tubing but don't weigh as much or cost as much as some of the others out there.

I must say ACE again. Have them on my '11 Rubi and they look great with the rails, add great protection and help the wife and kids in and out. Lifetime replacement is a huge bonus as well.
