I love my JK...but REALLY?
Alright, I don't mean to go off on a rant here(TY Dennis Miller), but WTF!
I traded in an 08 2 door X bone ass stock JK for my "new" 2010 Sahara "mall crawler" decked out JKU, and don't get me wrong, I love the hell out of it, but I am getting a little concerned. I put my Vector UFOs on today and the hood windshield bumpers were made of 1/4 the material as the ones on my 08. They are literally just for show. The 08s were a solid chunk of rubber, and the 10s were flimsy "look I have hood tits" pieces of sh!t.
So, where I am going with this is...what else have they skimped on so bad that it is worthless? I am finally back to being a Jeep guy after being gone for many years, and am just a little disappointed at the serious lack of QC. Good thing we have mods I guess!
Chime in with any "insufficiencies" you have found to help out the rest of us in making our JKs the BEST they can be!

owning a jeep is like having kids. they cost you way too much they will disappoint you and they will frustrate you to the point of tears...
but if anyone tries to take it from you you will murder them.

Guys prior to my 2012 JKU Sahara I had a 2002 330i, a 2006 330i, and a 2010 Mazdaspeed3.
I have been on many car forums. I have personally experienced a lot of FAIL...like when my manual trans went out in my Mazdaspeed with 5k miles on it and my warranty was denied because of a custom motor mount that was better than the POS factory one.
Many of the people I came across on the other forums were:
A) cocky jerks who wanted to out-know everyone else on the forum
B) cocky jerks who wanted everyone to put them on a pedestal because their car was the coolest ever
c) Generally unhappy people who would treat everyone like crap if they didn't search the threads properly or ask a dumb question, etc.
I love my Jeep. And I love this site because I have yet to come across the same type of people who constantly b!tched about their rides. People on here treat each other well and are very helpful. It really is a tight knit group. It's ironic because I just remarked to my friend today how different Jeep owners are...including this forum.
So the moral of the story is look.....we can all nit pick the heck out of our rides. Factory parts are designed to get the job done yet provide a high profit margin for the automaker. That being said if you look at the evolution of things on a Jeep like the front and rear axles, boxed control arms, 5 spd auto, Pentastar engine, 4 doors, etc, you realize just how far Jeeps have come.
Did my stupid little plastic hood teet pop off at the carwash when I smacked it with the washing brush....yes it did. But the fact that I was able to pop it right back in and think about the fact that I can't summon a single reason why I would want to fold my windshield down provided a moment of appreciation that I did not have to pay extra $$$ for a expensive rubber one I'll never use.
All I am saying is give Jeep a chance....

This quote made me laugh (and even snort) out loud!!! hahahahaha. I've only had my jeep a few months, and I can completely relate to this. Can I steal your quote if I promise to give you credit?
