Unhappy Cleaning stinky gear oil from diff overfill?

When changing my diff covers out with the SOLID Axle diff covers, apparently I put too much oil in the front one. The stinky gear oil has been puking from the breather tube and, as you know, as been drippy and nasty. It seems that the breather tube spits out on to the front left shock and all on the left side of the Jeep.

I've been to the pressure washer a few times and it's still kinda stinky. What's the best way to clean this stuff off and what's the best thing to use? I've had enough! It still drips a little when it sits in the driveway even though I changed it out almost 2 weeks ago.

Help!

Park it on level ground and pull the fill plug and let the oil drain out, if it is still over filled. The gear oil should only come to the bottom of the fill plug. This will stop it from puking out the vent. Go get your self a can or 2 of engine degreaser spray it down then pressure wash it off.

Is there anything underneath that I'd have to cover or be careful of when spraying it down with that crap (de-greaser OR brake cleaner)?

Simple green degreases and is less caustic.

Thanks everybody. I'll give it a shot this weekend. Hopefully the Jeep will be de-stinked in no time

I didnt even think of dish soap. If i remember correctly, dawn is the strongest for breaking down grease. It will even strip all the old wax from the paint before you rewax
