I have been doing a lot of work on my Jeep. In my paint color there are 8 shades of Flame Red. The body shop brought the paint swatches out and there was a very visible difference. That said not sure how the match would be.

My silver hood is a great match.
Only issue was a long lead time 6-8 weeks. Had to make a call, it was just sitting in the "paint dept?"

If you are in Texas, Screamin Lizard in Irving stocks the hoods and paints it to match your Jeep exactly and will install it too.

thanks but a 5 hour drive is not worth the time for a hood to me I have people who can paint it just fine here.
My only thought was if it was already Bright White is would save me a little.

thanks

Call a body shop and ask if there any color variations / shades for that year and color. If the paint manufacturer has multiples of your color order the hood and have the paint matched and painted locally.

We use a professional bodyshop that uses factory Mopar paints for the hoods. It's the highest quality you'll get going to any reputable shop using the same paint

Joe,
How many issues do you encounter with scratching during shipping? How are you packing them after painting?

I'm pretty sure quadratec uses the same paint codes as Chrysler...I would pay more attention to the actual "paint codes" instead of just the description "flame red"

Coming from a guy who worked in a body shop for 5 yrs

It is very rare that a hood arrives in defective shape. We require the customer to check the hood BEFORE signing for it to ensure it is not damaged. Regardless of what the truck driver may say, you are allowed to inspect it on the truck before signing for it. If the hood is damaged, please take pictures and refuse the delivery and contact us immediately. The body shop packs up the hoods for us and they are picked up by the freight company directly from there. Our painter ensures that every hood goes into the box 100% defect free.

We use factory Mopar paint codes as well as the body shop.
