Default 18" Wheel Dilemma

Hello. Currently I have 18x9 Moto Metal rims that are chrome on my 35x12.5 Toyo MT's. I'm not liking the chrome...it pits and flakes and just doesn't suit the Jeep IMO. Whoever put these on decided they just had to go with 18" rims over something more common like 17". Rims in 18" size seem really hard to find and I'm thinking I might want to go to 17's when these tires wear out in a couple years anyways...lots of thread left on em. Sooo...

I was thinking that instead of spending close to $1700 on a set of 18x9 XD Addicts (only ones I could find that I sort of like), I could just pick up a much cheaper set of 18" stock Sahara take-offs and throw my 35's on there with some 1.5" spacers for now. I really like the way the stock rims look when they are painted black...they look clean and simple. Anyways, I really need your guys opinion as to which route would be the best for me to take. Thanks!

I found out that the Pro Comp 8069's that I really wanted have been discontinued along with a bunch of other Pro Comp rims that I thought were nice. I don't know if it's just in the 18" sizes or what, but that sucks at any rate!

I run 35" trail grapplers on stock 18" wheels and like the look. Plus you can get them cheap and paint them if you like not to mention they would be easy to touch up

I too was all concerned about 18" wheels vs 17" or even 16". I ended up picking up a set of well used Maxxis Bighorns (305/70R17) on stock 17" Moabs 2 weeks ago. They have never been on my Jeep and are now for sale. I really like my 18" Sahara wheels and just bought 275/70R18 DuraTrac's (new) for them.

If you look around (DTD) in the right sizes some tires for 18's are CHEAP, especially in the States.

I've got 17 's (pro comp / rock crawlers) with 35/12.50 bfg km2's and spent 1700.00 total. Five wheels.
