Default Garvin Hard top mounted Roof rack

I just finnished installing a Garvin Offroad series track rack on my 08 hard top. I removed it off of my other truck. I spoke with Garvin and they said that they had plans to mount one up but, they hadn't gotten to it yet. The rack is 48"X60"X6". If any one is interested in this installation please let me know.

I chose this option for many reasons. One, I already owned the rack. Two, I don't have to worry about hitting the front or rear bars of the body mounted rack on trees. Mostly, it is very easily removable.

Default Wow..... you guys are brutal...

I have pics.... they didn't load the last time. Here... I am trying again. Apparently my pics file sizes are too large. I need a program to make the files smaller.

What's the maximum weight load that can carry? I believe the manual states that the roof is not load bearing, but I would think with four mount points, it should hold at least 100 lbs., is that your estimation? Also, have your driven with it on the highway loaded with gear? Any problems?

I have the same question. My roof top load will consist of an 18" kayak, and my concern isn't so much weight, but is more about the wind load of passing 18-wheelers. Hate to see my hard top ripped off, along with my kayak. That would end up costing me about $7000!

EDIT - Should have been 18', nor 18"! Thanks, Canada!

You must be a really small guy

I like the look of that rack, I too would wonder about the load bearing capacity of the hard top...
