Default 285/70R17 BFG MT dimension help

Would anyone be able to help me out with actual dimensions of a 285/70R17 BFG Mud Terrain that is mounted on the stock Rubicon 17” wheel? Height, outside width, and tread width… Preferably the spare tire, as I will be comparing with the stock MTs on stock rims that I have sitting in the garage…

Photos would be great also if anyone has ‘em, but not entirely necessary…

Thanks!

Gary

This is what it converts to 285/70/17 = 32.7x11.2/17. I have that size on mine with no lift, but I do have the cragar soft 8 wheels though. They do not rub at all. dont have any pics yet but I will in a day or two.

Did you put the sensors in the new wheels? Any problems with them fitting?

Thank you...I have been to the conversion sites, and found them helpful...I was, however, wanting someone who might actually have 285/70R17 mounted on the stock Rubi rims to give me those measurements mounted. I know I might be nitpicking, but I wanted actual measurements of that tire on that rim, since they can vary, however slight, from tire brand to tire brand, and mounted on different rims...

I also am looking for a picture of them mounted on a Rubi with the 1.5" spacers, if possible...

Thanks!

Gary

Keeping in mind that metric tire sizes (And LT sizes) are in nominal numbers (A few mm variance...for metrics, an inch for LT, etc...)

A 285 is 285 mm in section width, or 11.2". The 255 is 255 mm or 10.0", in section width.

The 285/75/17 has sidewall heights that are 75% of the section width, or 213.75 mm

The 255/75/17 has sidewall heights that are 75% of the section width, or 191.25 mm

To see the total tire diameter, you add two sidewall heights to the rim diameter....or:

(17" = 25.4 mm/inch = 431.8 mm)

(213.75 mm / 25.4 mm/inch = 8.415")

(191.25 mm = 25.4 mm / inch = 7.53 ")

(For the 285...) 213.75 + 213.75 + 17" = 16.83" + 17" = 33.8" Diameter

(For the 255...) 191.25 mm + 191.25 mm + 17" = 15.06 + 17" = 32" Diameter

The TREAD widths will be less than the section widths, by ~ a few inches typically....depending upon the tire.

Hope that helps!

Again, I appreciate all those of you who keep trying to steer me towards a conversion site, a theory of tire sizes, etc., but I am just trying to find someone who has 285/70R17 BFG MTs mounted on the stock Rubi rims who might be able to measure the actual diameter, tread width, and section width on their spare tire, since it's off the ground, and send me that...I want a real world actual measurement from someone who has this mounted combo if possible...if not, no biggie...

I just realized you wanted 70 aspect ratio

If some one measures them...its just going to look like the above anyway....

What are you going to do with the numbers that a few millimeters will change your mind about plans?

Also - the "BFG Mud Terrain"....is it the km, or, the km2 that you want?

If its the new one, 285/70/17 is a 33 x 11.5/17 tire. You should be able to figure the rest out.
