Default Adjustable rear track bar or camber bolts?

Hello,

I am looking into purchasing a 4" lift kit. The Kit comes with an adjustable front track bar and for the rear a relocation bracket w/camber bolts. I was reading previous threads where other members say that it is best to go with an adjustable rear track bar rather than using the supplied camber bolts. My question is, if I purchase the adjustable rear track bar, do I install that with the relocation bracket or forego installing the relocation bracket and just install the rear track bar onto the stock rear bracket ...Please advise, thank you...

I think you are crossing a couple things, but you are on the right track. First, camber is not adjustable on our Jeeps, I think you are referring to caster, which is either adjusted by adjustable control arms in the front or by the caster cams or caster adjusting bolts. DO NOT use the caster cams or caster bolts (same thing different name), they are unreliable and can move on you when you hit bumps causing you to have control problems with your vehicle.

I would shy away from any lift that recommends that you use the caster adjusting cams, it is just not the way to go when there are other much more reliable way to do it.

As far as the adjustable rear track bar, yes that would take the place of the track bar relocation bracket, making the bracket not necessary.

I hope this helps.

Default Rear CAM Bolts

What lift kit is using rear Cam Bolts? Mine came with Cam bolts that replace the bolts in the Front Lower Link. Everyone is right though, spend a little more money and upgrade to adjustable links. I'm sure , with whatever lift your getting, you can upgrade some parts.

my kit came with the rear track bar relocation deal (cam type). it was bulky and rubed on the drivers rear shock. i ended up replacing it with an adj. rear track bar. whats an extra $180.00.

What brand lift are you planning on using, so we can figure your situation out. I am not aware of one that uses cam bolts on the rear.

You may be right...After reading the installation instructions more thoroughly it is indeed the "cam bolts" for the front lower control arms....I plan on purchasing the 4" rough country lift kit...The kit comes with 4 coils, 4 shocks, front adjustable track bar, brake bracket extensions, rear swaybar links (the rear OEM links wil be used in the front), rear relocation bracket & cam bolts. I plan on replacing the rear relocation bracket with an adjustable rear track bar and getting adjustable lower control arms for the front to replace the cam bolts. Here is the price break down:

Lift kit ~ $575
Arms ~ $220
Rear bar ~ $180
Total $975 + shipping

Unless you folks can recommend a complete kit that is within that ball park figure above....Thanks again...

The reason why I am looking at a 4" lift is to be able to run 35's and later on down the road be able to clear/run 37's.....
