Default 5.13's & 305/65/R17 for 3-6 months...

Trying to juggle getting new tires & new gears but the timing for both isnt going to be easy. See, I have 305/65R17's now but I have about 6-8k miles left on em until I bump up to my Toyo 37x13.50x17's. That being said, I will be re-gearing cause of the jump in tire size, but I will before I get my Toyo's - hence, I will be running the 305's on 5.13 gears. Will this be an issue for say, 3, 4, 5 months? In a perfect world, I would like to try and do it all together, tires, gears, etc...but I will be ordering my LoD full width sig series with tire carrier also and along with the tires, gears, and labor..... is all I gotta say.

So, like I said...I still have time on my tires before I have to replace em, so I wanna do the gears now. Let me know if running 5.13's for those few months on my current tires will be an issue or if it's not a good idea....

D30 up front & D44 in the rear, 3.73's. Not too much highway driving, mainly in town...a little hilly. Have a soft top, ProComp XTreme AT's, stubby front bumper & winch, rock sliders, same sized spare...keep in mind I will be adding the LoD bumper as well before the tires

Default works for me...

FoxRacingJMC, i run 5.13's on the same axles you have with 295/65/18's measures about 32.5" and when i'm on the hwy i just keep my rpm's @ 2200 which is about 63mph. just do the gears don't sweat it one bit. i been driving cross country since June with these gears and couldn't be happier it all depends on how you drive'em. kinda makes her a bit peppy too you may end up liking it.

K, cool. This is what I was looking to read about... obviously when I slap on the Toyo's its not gonna be the same but I wont mind

Ive also seen the charts, I'm up to speed on em...was looking for people who just happen to run this way or have in the past...

Default You can do it

I have a 6-speed. Been running 305's with 5:13s for over 25K miles. It's fine in town but on the HWY 65 MPH is about the max reasonable cruising speed. On the upside I never have to down shift to climb steep hills, and you can skip most gears i.e. 1-2-4-6. Don't really use 3 or 5 unless Im cruising at 25mph or 45 mph for a long time.

I'll be going to 315s ( 35's) in a month now that my 305s are about worn out.

There are guys running 5.38's with 33's (myself included) who are doing so because we chose to do gears before tires also. It's not a problem. Your rpm's on the highway will be higher but it won't hurt anything if you keep it at 75mph or under.

You should run about 2300 rpm at 70 with the auto.

I run 305/65R17 BFG mt kms and at 70 I turn 1900~2000 rpms. 2200~2300 would be nice with 5.13 gears.

These tires measure a bit over 32.25" mounted. They are exactly 12" wide.

I think the stock Rubi tires were a small 32" tire, would be curious to measure the actual on one. Probably measure 31.5"~ish
