Default Price for Ball joint install?

I ordered new ball joints that are serviceable and asked a buddy who owns a tire shop for an install price. He said $250.00 with alignment is that what installs are running?

Sounds like a fair price. Last ball joint replacement I had quoted was $820. I ended up doing it myself

It's a decent-sized job. I'd say that $250 is fair considering it's around a 3-4 hour job.

Thanks, for all the responses! Guy who owns the shop is a friend and I thought he would be fair, but I just spent 250$ on the ball joints and $500 total for upgrading something you don't see isn't much fun. Hopefully the benefits will show up in the long run...

Could've done the ball joints yourself and save on labor cost.

That's a fair price... If replacing for the first time, it is a PITA, and can take well over 4 hours (I had to split it up over 2 days). I actually messed up my axle seal when re-installing, and ended up paying $800 to have them replaced... Shoulda just paid someone to install the joints.

I paid 75 for mine to be installed but that was because I took a loose axle to them
