Front Bumper Help
I will be using my high school shop class to build a front bumper for me. They are actually some very good welders. Several of the students are certified welders before they leave our program. Some of them currently work at a trailer manufacturing plant for the military. So I'm not talking about kids that can't put two pieces of metal together. They also have a teacher that can supervise and build anything so I am not too worried. I want a bumper like the Shrockworks style. One thing I am not to sure about is how to mount the bumper so the front bolts are not sticking out. I'm not sure about how several of the bumpers in the photos are mounted since there are no pictures of the bumpers from the backside. I will probably have them just weld a plate between the frame for the winch mount. I will post my students progress with some photos. I am the HS principal not the shop teacher so I won't be letting them drive the Jeep just tear it apart with tools.
Any help would be appreciated.
