Default Ford EcoBoost or Similar Tech In the Jeep

Watched some stuff on the EcoBoost Tech...

WHY THE HELL DOESN'T MOPAR COMEOUT WITH THIS STUFF FOR THE JEEP!!!!

Seriously though. Why can't i get a V8 hemi with the same technology and put it in my jeep?!?!? Personally i dont understand why you couldn't shut down say 4 or even 6 from the V8, with a master switch to go back to 8 when i want to. Maybe even combine the whole thing with hybrid tech. Electric motors get nice torque, might be fun (although i could see killing a battery fast (lots of braking though so i dunno)). I dunno i think its where techs gunna go in the future, only way it really can. Just impatient to get more than my 18 mpg on a good day....

Or even bring back the 3.0L CRD from the Grand Cherokee....

Just curious on opinions as i know many of you have gone to the V8 hemi and many of us still dont have the Pentastar...

END RANT

Chrysler has variable displacement Hemis for cars and trucks now, all the performance minded driveres HATE them. The diesel Grand will be here soon, and don't be so quick to drink the cool aid on the Eco-boost. Give it a few years before declaring that one a winner.

Enjoy your Jeep now before the tree huggers and Obummer declare them illegal.

I like the idea of being able to shut off cylinders when not needing them, its pretty brilliant. for a jeep I tihnk it would be rather perfect, however I also think the ability to shut off such features is key. Either way, the jeep seems a pretty good market for such a system. big v8 would call for stronger axles anyways, and then you could get the power you needed while wheeling or when you swap to bigger tires; and otherwise when just cruising on the highway or puttering around town you could get by with just the power of a v6

Ya, it is crazy that the wrangler gets as bad of mpgs as it does. I know it is has a lot of wind resistance, but dang! My dads suburban is almost twice as long as my jeep, has a V8 with way more power, and still gets better mpg...

lol shutting off cylinders while driving on 35s or 37s would be funny as hell. call me crazy but they should put a cummins motor in it like a updated version of the 4bt. i have plenty of friends here that did the swap in fords and wranglers and the mpg is crazy. also the torque is instant.

a small v8 geared the right way would be just awesome...a diesel would be even better....i agree with the 4bt updated version for sure.....atleast make it an option ya know what i mean? offer like many other companies do and give the choice between 2 engines...but for everybody.....it all boils down to politics and the taxing of oils and blah blah blah....global recession/greedy ass leaders and greedy companies.....but oh well hopefully place dosent start sucking hard core till im long gone lmao
