Parking lights auto shutoff override?
Does anybody know how to override the auto shutoff feature of the parking lights? I like to use the parking lights...well, as parking lights.
It drives me crazy that they shut off automatically after 5-10 min. I'd like to leave them on in the parking lot while running errands.

We tow the Jeep behind our motorhome. When its dark or rainy we like to turn the parking lights on. (There is also a set of lights running off the motorhome.) The motorhome provides 12V to the Jeep while being towed, so the battery is not a problem.
Anyway, the damn lights go off after a few minutes leaving the Jeep darker than it should be.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE: Sometimes the lights stay on!! I have no idea why, but it makes me think there is a way to defeat this "feature".
Another reason to defeat this is when the rig must be left on the roadside for a while in the dark. Dumb, dumb "feature"!
Dear Chrysler: Please let me think for myself!!

Anybody have a fix for this yet?
Would it work to somehow run a switched wire to energize the parking lights and put a diode on the stock power feed to prevent damage to the stock wiring and canbus?

Well......the reason they shut off after that time is so they don't kill your battery. Maybe I'm not understanding what you're asking?
