$50 Paint Job. Anybody Tried This?
I bet the jambs look like butt! I have sold Automotive paint for 15 years and HAVE seen some people roll certain products on like my brothers old boss had some latex around and rolled his van....looked like s**t! I think you are better off purchasing a spray gun and going that route. I have seen guys use a $50 dollar gun and have turned out an incredible paint job. The prep is definitely a factor and the body has got to be perfect. White is very forgiving and I would love to see this car in person. It does look good in the pics. Now, I used to sell a product that you could spray, brush, or roll like the product he is using, BUT there are also additives for that process as well. Like, accelerators....when it's humid out, reducers to add at different % to apply by spray, brush, or rollers, hardeners to cure paint. With some products if you were to add too much of an additive it can have a reverse effect and change dry times. Imagine spending the time rolling out your vehicle and it does not dry. I had a customer that painted an older 70's corvette for his customer and for got to use the hardener...I think he drank it...It never dried he had to scrap it off still wet. That would be a nightmare could you imagine doing that to your Jeep? If you got the space of now someone that does you can rent a large compressor buy or rent a gun and do it yourself. I think you will much happier. I hope this helps.
