I had this exhaust for 10 months, way too loud.

Have wd-40, pry bar and some muscles. Those hangars can be a pita.

I got it and I love it. I'll be honest, at first I was like "wow, it's kinda......loud". That's just cause I wasn't used to it. Now, I am...and it's awesome. Has a great throaty, rumbling sound when coasting to a red light or stop sign, drone isn't bad, and doesn't sound like a rice burner lowrider honda civic. Install wasn't bad, the part that'll give you the most grief and pulling out your hair is the 2 hangers that the stock muffler is attached to. They take A LOT of work to get em out.... load em up with WD-40, bang em out, do whatever you can. Try not to mess em up though because you're gonna put the new one on the hangers. Other than that, its a pretty straight forward install.

Also keep in mind that if it's "way too loud" for your liking, it has to due with the RPM's you are running at of course. Gear ratio has a significant role in that as if your ratios aren't in-line for the tires you are running, and/or your shift points arent correct, you will have higher revs on your RPM's(to compensate for lack of power to get the tires rolling) thus resulting in "louder" or more "prolonged" drone.

Great! Thank you... I'm lookin for a louder sound. Obviously not rice burning sound lol. Thanks guys! I'll post pics when she is on!! I run 33 mud terrain tires that are loud as Hell as it is. I'm use to that. Excited for the upgrading!

I love the Gibson exhaust. But, realize it is very loud if you have a problem with that then rethink the decision

If loud is more important than performance, it might be a good fit for you. Many people with this exhaust have complained or mentioned a loss in low end torque with this and other dual exit exhausts. There isn't any performance need or gains from it, and a single exit exhaust with 2.5" pipe is more than what the 3.8l needs unless you have some forced air system.

I'm just trying to keep pace with '74 Pintos and loaded school buses, can't afford trimming the little power I have.

Be careful not to get too close to that Pinto.. Weren't those the ones that blew up if they were in a rear end collision?
