Default Dynatrac Pro Rock 44 Swap Questions

I have bent my front factory dana 44 axle so i will need to upgrade.

I plan to buy the Dynatrac Pro rock 44 unlimited to install in my 09 rubicon.

All gears and berrings in my current axle are almost new so there is no need to relace them.

My question is..

Can i sumply remove everything from my factory axle,, locker, gears, shims and berrings and reinstall them "exactly" as they where removed? Or do i have to set up and measure everything again from scratch and install new shims as if it where a new gear install... I dont have the proper measuring tools to do the job.

I DO know how to take out the gears as i have done this 3 times to fix the axle seals. I just havent done a complete axle swap before

When i pound out the pinion gear will i need to reinstall a new berring or can i simply reinstall it in the new axle housing?

You'll need to have the R&P set up again. You don't want to risk having it off at all. R&P set up is crucial. That said, there is no reason you can't remove the R&P and have them installed in the new housing while you still drive with the old housing.

Do you mean remove the front drive shaft, axles, ring and pinion and drive the jeep in 2WD untill i have a shop install the ring and pinion in the dynatrac 44 ?

If so i guess my other question is about the the hub berring.. Is it strong enough to safely hold the front weels on with only the 3 bolts holding it in place?

The axle shaft only provides power to the bearing assy. The weight is supported fine by those 3 bolts without the shaft. Funny when you think about...

The two wheel drive JKs only have a hollow tube front axle. Nothing else. You'll like that PR44, I've had mine almost 2 years now.

Yes, exactly. And yes, your hub bearing is strong enough. It doesn't need an axle shaft inside to hold it together.

I will do exactly that. Thanks for the information. I thought I was going to have to park it till I had the axle. This will help me to continue to drive till i have my axle and time to do the install
